MATCHA MOTION

A viral-first food trailer brand built for culture, content, and scale- concept and art direction by me.

Matcha Motion is a concept food trailer designed to turn a simple product—matcha—into a highly shareable, sensory-driven brand experience.

The goal was to create more than a food truck.

It needed to feel like a moment people would film, share, and come back for.

The Opportunity

Food trucks are everywhere.
Very few are brands.

Most compete on:

  • price

  • portion size

  • convenience

Very few are designed for:

  • content creation

  • visual identity

  • repeatable social moments

At the same time, matcha is rapidly growing with Gen Z, driven by:

  • wellness culture

  • aesthetic appeal

  • café-style experiences

The Idea

Create a matcha-first dessert + drink trailer engineered for virality.

A place where:

  • every order looks like content

  • every interaction feels intentional

  • every detail reinforces the brand

Strategy

1. Design for the algorithm

Every product had to be:

  • visually striking

  • dynamic in motion (pour, swirl, drizzle)

  • instantly recognizable

2. Build for participation

Customers don’t just order—they:

  • customize

  • film

  • share

3. Create a system, not a truck

The brand needed to scale beyond one location:

  • repeatable menu structure

  • consistent visual identity

  • adaptable experience

Design System

Created a scalable system across:

  • trailer wrap

  • menu boards

  • packaging

  • social content

  • merchandise

Everything ties back to:
motion, texture, and simplicity

Business Thinking

This wasn’t just a design exercise.

High-margin model:

  • matcha + soft serve = low cost, high markup

  • limited ingredients = operational efficiency

Built for scale:

  • repeatable menu

  • strong brand recognition

  • franchisable concept

Outcome

Matcha Motion transforms a food trailer into:

  • a destination

  • a content engine

  • a scalable brand system
